Strength Training Story: 

This past fall, I decided I wanted to gain strength and muscle.  I had never lifted weights in my life!  Faye gave me training programs that were short enough to fit into my weekly schedule and kept progressing as I got more familiar with the gym and got stronger.  Now my body feels different...in a good way!

What I really liked about working with Faye was her excellent communication with me.  I did the workouts on my own, but she was always there for support.  Now I'm stronger than I ever have been!  I'd recommend Faye to anyone.

Nutrition Story: 

Before I started, I wasn't sure if this would be another lost cause or just tone deaf diet guidance.  But our conversations have never been judgemental and have actually been far more thought provoking than I ever expected.

My goal was to lose weight without impacting my sport performance at the gym and with triathlons.  I not only lost weight, but more importantly, I've changed how and what I eat (much more variety!).

Nutrition Story: 

When I first started working with Faye, I can say that I had a Fear of Failure!  Faye was so motivational but there was no judgement.  She made me realize that I could fall off the wagon but then I could re-set.  Don't hate myself or think I have completely failed - just re-set.  I used to get disappointed by my failures but as Faye says, bad habits have been there for years so any little change is positive.  She always finds something positive in the feedback she gave me which made me feel better about what I was doing.

My goals were to get healthier, lose some weight and get more active.  I had decades of poor eating and worse, sneak eating, in my life. I failed at so many of the organized weight loss programs but Faye got me to see that it really isn’t about the weight but all about getting healthy. It was the best approach for me and once I got out of calorie counting mode and into healthier lifestyle choices, then it all made sense. My movement is better, my Rheumatoid Arthritis is the best it’s been in years and I can walk and stand for much longer. I was really unable to do many of the things I am now doing (like full day babysitting of my toddler grandson!). Thank you so much, Faye!

What I really liked was Faye's reminders, follow-up emails, and weekly summaries. I really found our check in calls valuable, especially when I was facing a trip away, a holiday or event or just a change in my schedule.  The calls helped me stay focused and reminded me to plan and look forward.  Overall, Faye really helped me and I would recommend her to anyone!

When we first started, I was worried I wouldn't make it through the program and would disappoint my coach.  But Faye was really encouraging, she helped me schedule weekly goals, come up with games to help practice habits and gave me motivational quotes.

Nutrition Story: 

Before I started, I thought I was going to be told exactly what to do, forced to do certain things, that my coach wouldn't communicate very much and focus only on results.  But that wasn't the case at all.  Faye listened to me, my expectations and fears.  She challenged me to stop, think, and come up with solutions and plans to overcome my obstacles.  She guided me on the correct path, for my individual strengths and weaknesses.

My goals were to get fit and learn healthy eating habits.  Now I am more conscious about my eating decisions, I can control my cravings, incorporate more vegetables in my diet and am aware that every change needs an adaptation period and focus.  I can't sustainable do all changes at once and Faye guided me through that!

When I first started working with Faye, I was a bit worried about what to expect with the nutrition program.  Faye provided me with great knowledge into nutrition and was able to explain the habits and proper nutrition to me in a way that wasn't confusing, but was very clear.

Sports Nutrition Story: 

When I contacted Faye, I didn't have any reservations at all.  I was referred to her by another client and I was hoping for the best!

My goal was to improve physical fitness and wanted the assistance of a "pre-workout drink/supplement".  I also did not want the drink/supplement to contain any caffeine (due to allergies).  Faye recommended two pre-workout supplement drinks.  One was available to purchase and the other was a supplement I could brew-up at home.  Faye also gave me the website link for the cheapest purchase option as well as provided the list of ingredients/amounts to mix, if I went for the home-made option.

During our consultation, Faye asked great questions to gain a better understanding of my requirements and goals.  I am very satisfied and would recommend her to anyone looking to improve with sports nutrition!

Trail Runner Story:

Coach Faye was key in helping me achieve my fitness goal of completing the Ultra Trail Harricana du Canada 42k – my first marathon and longest trail race! New Triathlete Story:

​I just finished my first triathlon, it feels like a long time ago but it was just 4 months ago when I met Faye and she told me: "you can do a triathlon, I can train you". That day I went from couch potato to what I just finished.

The journey was easier than what I thought and I blame Faye about that :) She walked me through the process gradually and understanding that I never ran or swam before. She used training peaks which is an application that helped us keep our training organized, kept the communication flow open and easy, and it had a lot of nice features like checking your current state vs your fatigue, allowing you prepare for the great day.

Finally, the best part of all is not just the race. The best thing is that my life has changed. I am hooked to this new life stile of daily workouts and healthy eating habits. I suffer from high blood pressure but I lost 40 pound in this process and stop taking my medication 3 days ago and the blood pressure is fine  .

Triathlete Story: 

I started training with Faye through a work initiative, with the idea of a few of us getting ready for and racing together on (our first ever) triathlon. While I am relatively fit, I had never done any formal training for such a competition, let alone try and run one. Having completed the race now, I can honestly and unequivocally say that it would have been close to impossible to do the race without the coaching from Faye, and I am 100% certain that had I been able to do it without her, it would not have been an enjoyable experience.
 
Working with a coach helped me be prepared mentally and physically. It removed all anxiety, from not having to think about “Am I ready?” or “Am I training enough?”, as well as knowing what to expect, and other things one does not think about (what to have for breakfast, what to pack for race day, etc.). Faye was to us a re-assuring, calming and motivating voice throughout the entire program, letting us know we could do it. All we had to worry about was following instructions, and let her do the rest.  
 
This ended up being such a positive experience, that we are not starting to prepare for our next event, and more people from work are joining us. The support we got from having Flying Phayzer working with us was immeasurable, and I highly recommend it, be it that you are training for your first time at a new challenge, or if you are an experienced athlete looking for someone to push you further than you have gone ever before.
